The Grand Prairie is the widest section of the Mississippi River Delta, where an abundance of rice and soybean crops are grown. The Grand Prairie is also comprised of river bottoms and hardwood timer tracks. Slick’s consists of 1200 acres of privately owned and meticulously managed flooded timber.
Tradition
Slick’s is in its third generation of family owned and operated management. Over the years we have made countless friends who come back year after year. Some groups have been hunting with us for over 50 years and that is a tradition we are proud of!

What to Expect
Hunters begin their day with a hearty, Southern breakfast and plenty of coffee. Guides will then take you on what will hopefully be the best duck hunt you’ve ever experienced. After a short boat ride through the finest green timber in the world, you will arrive at your assigned hole. Guides will instruct you on where to stand. Holes are prepared during the off-season with materials to provide footing and traction. Blinds and benches are located in each hole for your comfort.
Remember to keep your head down and when the guide says “take ‘em”, get ready to experience the hunt of a lifetime!
Guests can enjoy a trip to Mack’s Prairie Wings in the afternoon, or just relax at the lodge. We are also able to coordinate arrangements for goose or pheasant hunts depending on availability.
